Does anyone knowwhere I can find the drivers for the Samsung HSDPA modem.
The two models that have this type of modem are the HAZ1UK and the HAV1UK, I cannot find the drivers on the Samsung website, if anyone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful, thanks.shellewell90 – Can I ask why you need just the driver only?

]Samsung Connection Manager[/url] software and when installed it re-flashed the hsdpa card with upgraded firmware although I didn’t notice it updating the driver but it may have done.This is what I have on my machine

BTW if you are getting 6.37 Mb/s through the mobile connection then you are doing very well but the upload speed seems low to me 🙂

I gave the driver and card firmware versions so you could compare with those on your machine so I hope it helped in that respect.You can download driver 4.48.0.0 by installing DriverMax
P.S The 6.37 Mb/s download is on my home internet. My Mobile Broadband speed is around 3 Mb/sThat threw me entirely as I assumed the speed test results contained in your post were from the mobile connection as this was the subject of your original post. 😕
I have the same problem, and I just phoned samsung support and they said there will be no windows 7 driver support for the HSPA modem used to connect to the vodefone network in the UK until at least January, if ever, as “samsung have not got there act together” about what uk laptops they will support with windows 7… yes, thats what the rep said!!!
Where should we go from here??!!?!?!??!?!?!?!?! I’m not happy!
oh, and driver max was no help, offered updated for everything apart from the modem :S
check out my last topic posted for this… you will find that the SCM does carry in it the driver software, which auto installs at the end of installing the samsung connection manager!!

Does that mean you are up and running ok then?On a seperate note with regards to Samsung Netbooks. I just bought a Samsung N220 plus -JP02UK Netbook. This was sold to me by Dixons at Stansted Airpport on the understanding that it had 3G connectivity via an intergrated sim card slot in the battery compartment. Needless to say the slot is there, but no reader attached to the motherboard.
Upon returning from my break & contacting the seller, I was instructed to return the item to Currys or PC World for an exchange.
Currys couldn’t exchange it as all of it’s N220’s have the same issue (Sim card slot but no reader). Upon contacting Samsung customer support they wisely advised me that, “as their website says, it’s a “*Factory Option” ” an option that it appears the buyers for PC World, Currys & Dixons (they are all part of the same retailer) did not opt for. Samsung said the only other two UK suppliers are Vodafone & Tesco’s. Same problem there!!!
PC Advisor have reviewed the item saying “The N220’s best feature is the built-in 3G wireless broadband, with a SIM card slot located under the battery. The netbook’s 3G module is unlocked, meaning you can use your own SIM card if you wish.” So you must be able to get one.
All I want is a capable 250GB Hard Drive, 1Gb RAM Netbook with WiFi & HSDPA or any sort of sim reader so I can connect via 3G. Please can someone tell me where I can find one!!!!!Frustrated

Samsung Nc10 Windows 7 Drivers
Ok,this is a little pre-emptive as I’ve not actually got my netbook yet or obviously installed Vista onto it… HOWEVER!!!! All is not lost as I’ve been able to use one in a shop that belonged to one of the shop workers and they’d installed Vista onto it.
A couple of things they mentioned;
1. Install 2GB Ram first, Vista definitely wants it.
2. A neat trick, install Vista graphics drivers from Intel’s site (so don’t use default graphics drivers in Vista or the Samsung XP ones) and you’ll get a far superior performance from the netbook. The user index rating thingy goes from 1.0 to 2.8 AND Aero compatible (plus the netbook was still fast and not running slowly AT ALL with Aero enabled).
3. He did mention a few Samsung drivers needed to be installed, I think specifically the WAN and LAN.
4. There were a couple of issues with the trackpad – he didn’t get into detail but said that if you uninstall the samsung drivers you’ll get the FULL use of the trackpad WITHOUT the scroll function – some might find this better?
5. He did say (and I take his word for it but cannot be sure) that battery life was in fact slightly BETTER than it is with XP.
I hope that’s useful to someone – I’m going to see if I can befriend this chap in the shop to teach me how to do the install for Vista etc and hopefully from there I’ll be able to make a “how to” 🙂
sounds good jonbad, it would be great if you blaze the Vista trail lol! I think a lot of people will be thinking “why would you want to do that?” but without giving it a go I guess no one can say for sure what the pros and cons are!
Vista is supposed to have better power management so it seems possible battery power could be better! I have found that it is pretty good at switching the screen brightness down if you aren’t using it and hibernating after a longer period. Not having owned a laptop before power management is new to me and is somewhere down my reading list!
I’ve been running Vista Ultimate on my NC10 for about a week now. It runs very well – I’ve not had a problem with it at all.
As suggested, I installed vista graphics drivers from the intel website and saw a big improvement in performance. My Windows Experience Index gaming graphics score went from 1.0 to 2.7 🙂
I also installed trackpad drivers from the synaptics website and it works very well. It allows you to change just about every option possible, so you can have the scroll bar on or off, or change how much of the trackpad is given over to scrolling. I’ve also made the trackpad more rather sensitive, which I like – it avoids any problems with the trackpad being too small. The one thing I haven’t figured out yet is how to get multi-touch to work.
yeah its worth pointing out to XP users that you can configure the trackpad through control panel too. Im still working out what I want from it so its hard to know the best configuration!
Chirimolla, how did the installation go? Did you do it through an optical drive?
Been running vlited vista for a week now and works a dream as others have mentioned grab the drivers from intels site and the graphics speed along nicely with aero running impressively. Media centre and powerdvd 8 run really well and smooth with no dropouts.
Finding the atheros drivers can be a pain but there is an obscure site which has the vista drivers you just gotta search had. Vampire diaries season 1 complete download torrent.

Vista install was easy. All it took was a Computer Scientist housemate and a USB stick. I’d imagine the vista install process isn’t too radically different to on other netbooks, and there are plenty of guides for doing so online as it is. Like this one:
My housemate followed basically the same procedure but without vlite.
A surprisingly easy place to find all the Vista drivers is the support page for the Gigabyte M912 tablet PC. It’s got the same processor, chipset, touchpad and wireless card as the NC10 (and most of the other netbooks on the market) but has an option for pre-installed Vista, which means that pretty much all the latest vista drivers your NC10 could need are on its support page. I was tipped off to this by my aforementioned housemate, who owns an M912 and is dead jealous of my NC10’s keyboard and battery.
that’s interesting – I was tempted by the gigabyte M912 – I take it you are happy that the NC10 was the better choice!

Uninstall whatever trackpad drivers you have and install the vista trackpad drivers that Samsung provides for its other laptops that run Vista and also use synaptics:
I think there is definitely an expectation of follow up 3G and Vista versions in the pipeline. I would imagine they well push out all these first ones for Christmas and then capitalise on their success by keeping momentum with further releases.
With respect to the manual, I guessed those printed ones were actuallty generic laptop ones?

[/quote1227183557]You and me both. But I guess that’s the price of being an early adopted, but still those moves by manufacturers can leave a bad taste. Reminds me of the iPhone where some of my friends are locked into expense longterm deal with the early models and much better ones game along very very quickly!
In the short term I am happy that the NC10 does evrything I wanted but the one wishlist item is 3G. I suppose one advantage of the dongle is that when my home broadband connection goes down I guess the dongle can be slipped into my desktop machine?
